Dr. Çigdem Eroglu Erdem, Director of Research, has joined Momentum AS, in July 2002. She was a visiting researcher at Delft University of Technology and Philips Research Laboratories, Eindhoven, to conduct research on video processing aspects of 3DTV in 2003. Dr. Erdem was also a visiting researcher during 2000-2001 at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of University of Rochester where she worked on the problems of video object segmentation and tracking. Dr. Erdem's current research efforts include 3-D structure and motion estimation from 2-D video, video object segmentation, video object tracking, and natural lip synchronization for character animation. She is a member of the IEEE and a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Image Processing. She received the Best Paper Award at EUSIPCO'2000 (European Signal Processing Conference), the Best Research Presentation award at Bilkent University in 1997, a Ph.D. research scholarship from the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey during 1999 - 2002, and a research scholarship from Bogaziçi University during 1999 - 2001.
